Encourage ‘newbies’ 

I see so many eBay sellers putting new eBayers off bidding with phrases such as ‘new ebayers must email me BEFORE bidding’ or ‘contact me if your feedback is less than 10’ This is counter productive and unnecessary.

TIP: There is space in the ‘item location’ field which you can use to encourage new eBayers with a short message such as ‘New eBayers welcome’, a very wise move as experience tells me that new ebayers are often swept up in the excitement of their first auctions and consequently overpay. I have never found new eBayers any more likely to not pay than established eBayers.
