Thanks for the interesting story of Matt and Amanda – the eBay couple of OZ! As Jacinta said they were entrepreneurs all their lives but it was eBay which brought them the greatest wealth and freedom. I am not sure if they still offer the seminars which they conduct every year or so on how to operate a successful eBay business.

It is so nice to read a newsletter like this which you really share some information without strings attached – i.e. to offer another sale!!! Keep up the good work, regards.

Subscribed to your list and have been following your new product launch with Jim Cockrum — congratulations! It’s very inspiring to see how well a Masterclass student can do — and the fact you’re back for the 2010 tells me I’m in the right place as an MC student!

This is an inspiring story. I think the “lessons learned” are very helpful to new sellers — especially this quote: “We learned quickly not to assume what people would buy”. So true and one of the things that make selling online so fun.

Very inspiring Stuart, I like the bit about starting small on eBay – I think I can do that! Seems they are natural entrepreneurs, so they would make a success of whatever they tried.

Hi Stuart, this is a good story. I was interested to read Jacinta’s comment above about the people. I think some people are serious go getters and others don’t quite have the extra urge that’s needed. They sound like they were already great achievers in life. Good for them!

Hi Stuart,

I have seen Matt and Amanda at one of the seminars I have been to. They are really funny and quite inspiring. They are both very down to earth people. They have had a wealth of success, however they didn’t say that he used to own a successful carpentry business and she used to be a personal trainer and owned a gym before they had ebay!

They were fairly successful before they started ebay, but ebay took them leaps and bounds.
