Happy Halloween!

I’m delighted to note that the annual summer slowdown on eBay appears to be over and the buyers are back!

My own vintage print sales have perked up with a test listing for a print from a recently acquired book achieving a final value of £37.00 ($60.00) with 4 bidders and 12 watchers. Very encouraging as the book cost £80.00 ($130.00) and contains a further 25 similar prints.

Take a look at eBay seller ‘ julie.bennett’ for a very impressive example of successful vintage print selling. There is lots to learn from this sellers listings, I particularly like the free postage (because she sells with a fixed price ‘buy it now’ she can build the cost into her price.)  Note also the guarantee of satisfaction and the seller’s payment instructions.

Researching successful sellers also gives us a short cut to what sells and for how much, this is invaluable information when we are sourcing our stock. You’ll notice that julie.bennett sells ‘Flower Fairies’ these captivating miniatures were published in the 1930′s by the celebrated artist Cicely Mary Barker.

I have a ‘breaker’ copy of ‘Flower Fairies Of The Spring’ published c1930 it contains 23 coloured plates (similar to those sold by julie.bennett). I also have 23 mounts, back boards and self seal cellophane bags. In other words everything you need to begin selling vintage prints on eBay. I will post the whole package to any reader of this blog who;

  1. buys my eBook Prints Make Profits (or has previously bought a copy.)
  2. submits a comment to this blog post explaining why I should send the package to them (positive comments about my eBook will help!)

The best comment gets the package.

So buy my eBook (it’s a serious bargain at $17.00) and submit your comment, in a few days time you will have everything you need to start your own profitable, eBay business.

This eBay trick is a real treat!

They say a picture paints a thousand words and on eBay that is definitely true, a good quality image of your item makes the sale and the more pictures you include in your description the better.

If you don’t want to pay eBay’s picture hosting fees and you’re not sure about uploading them to your own webspace then take a look at Auctiva.com.

Auctiva offers a suite of free auction tools to eBay sellers; free templates, free scheduling, free images (including supersize.) So you can include as many pictures as you like without paying a penny!

Auctiva also offers its scrolling gallery feature so a visitor to one of your listings will see an image from all of your other listings, combine this with a postage discount for multiple purchases and give your sales a pre-Christmas boost!

Money for nothing

Did you know that you can list a 28 day classified ad in the ‘local services’ category of eBay.co.uk completely free of charge?

Did you know that eBay classified ads appear alongside traditional auction listings when the title keywords are searched?

Did you know that you can download a FREE report on making money with eBay classifieds?

Well you can, they do and you can…… HERE!

Go on give it a try, you’ve got nothing to lose!

That’s all for this week, have a peaceful weekend and thanks for reading.

  1. Hi Stuart – your book Prints for Profits is excellent, takes you step by step through the process of starting up this line on eBay and makes it really simple to follow. I have already bought my first two books and am about to start mounting pictures and listing – hopefully for some good profits. Your encouragement and help has been extremely useful and I agree that Julie Bennett is an example to applaud. It is noticeable that what sells in America is different to the UK and well worth researching. I would love to have the fairies to sell, it would help to give me a head start for the Christmas season and the motivation to explore this fascinating business further. Thanks once again. Jayne McWatt

  2. My apologies, your book is of course called Prints Makes Profits! It is late!

  3. G’day Stuart,

Your ebook “Prints Make Profits” is an excellent example of what can be achieved with a bit of research. You also show me how to set up a profitable business on eBay in a simple step by step manner that I can follow and more importantly, understand.

Compared to a lot of other offers recently, that only give you half the story, “Prints Make Profits” is complete in every detail and very affordable… probably too affordable, but I’m not complaining ;o)

Now you’ve topped off an already great offer by adding a complete starter package to one of us lucky purchasers! I can only hope that I’m in the running as that would be a fantastic kick start for me because the only problem I have is that there’s so much material to work with at your recommended resource… where do I start?

I highly recommend “Prints Make Profits” to anyone looking for a unique niche to market on eBay, it delivers big time!

    Thank you,
    John

  4. I am hoping to win youe ebay prints package. I did already purchase your ebook “Prints Make Profits” and love it. I actually understood what to do and I’m excited to get started. I will be using your ebook to start my ebay venture so I could really use the package you are offering.

  5. Hi Stuart,

I bought your prints make profits when halfway through John Thornhill’s coaching programme a few months ago. The reason being I have been trying to get into selling reprints of old pictures etc on canvas.(I have a large format canvass printer.)

I can only re iterate your comments on John’s programme. It is simply awesome and anyone wanting to succeed online should try and enroll or get his products as soon as possible.

I have put the printing on the back burner while concentrating entirely on the course and have written a book called Old Books Make Money, which tells people how to reprint books and other items from the public domain. Similar to yourself an me, this aims to show others how easy it can be to get a business up and running online.

Prints Make Profits is promoted on my blog at http://www.daverobus.com and if you can reciprocate by promoting http://www.oldbooksmakemoney.com I would sincerely appreciate the gesture.

By the way I am not looking to receive the Flower Fairies, please let someone else wanting to get into this fantastic business have their chance. I already know like you I am climbing the Mountain of Success.

If you would like to have a review copy of Old Books Make Money please let me know.

    All the best,

    Dave Robus.

  6. Hi Stuart,

I bought your book some weeks back now, and it is full of great information. Unlike most e-books it is not full of fluff, but it is full of great information, that people can read, take the steps and if they follow your plan will soon be making the money.

What makes a big difference is the fact that your e-book is written by someone who is walking the talk and does this day in and day out so knows all that works.

Thanks for the “bribe” for the best comment, if I was the one who won, I would set up some Charity auctions through eBay and raise some money for my Charities that I support. More can be read about these at http://www.andrewmilburn.com/charity .

Well again thanks for a great e-book.

    Best Wishes
    Andrew Milburn

    Hi Stuart,

I have bought, read, retried many, many ebooks but have honestly never felt any of them related to the real world of making money on the internet.

Having read your Prints Make Profits, I suddenly felt motivated.

I love it! Now I am researching books to buy on eBay and hope soon to start my new business.

What I found delightful is the way you wrote your book, it is easy to understand, not at all patronizing, and most of all, very do-able! Thank you.

    Patricia

  8. Hi Stuart
I only downloaded Prints Make Profits this morning but have skimmed through the book (printed it out) and am very impressed. I certainly think you have given value for money (not always the case by any means!).
I come into the category of being retired with a disabled husband and wanting to make some extra money while enjoying what I am doing, without too much spare time to do it! Your step by step approach to your niche business techniques are very clear to follow, and also your essential elements for effective ebay listings can be appled to any items and are probably worth the cost of the book alone.
I am really excited at the prospect of researching and finding appropriate books through to making the mounted prints. If I am not too late I would certainly like to be considered for your Flower Fairies package as it would be a wonderful fast start to what I hope will be an enjoyable (and lucrative) enterprise.
    Best wishes
    Jenny

  9. “Prints make Profits” has to be one of the best and well written business plans I have seen. My wife and I have been searching for a second income, as we will have another mouth to feed this December, and have purchased many ebooks and plans. We have found them only to tell half the story but “Prints make Profits” goes to a whole new level. Well written and imformative it takes you from start to finish of selling vintage prints and is full of hints and tips on how to take this business to it’s full potential. We have put up our first 2 prints on EBay, from a book we got from using another plan but failed to sell, we did not know who George Stubbs was until we read your plan! We hope that we will get the the Flower Faries package as I know we would be able to put the prints to profitable use. Thankyou for such a well written and simple to follow programme
    Best Wishes
