Twitter part 4
Tweet your links
Once you have built a large following on Twitter you can tweet links to your websites and drive targeted traffic this way.
It is vital that you tread carefully, however, as you don’t want to upset your followers by continually tweeting links to sales pages and you definitely don’t want to be suspended for violating Twitter’s strict rules on spam.
Remember where you are; this is a social networking site, people join it to find new friends and contacts and to interact with other like minded individuals. You must be sensitive to this and build relationships by telling people about yourself – be open, tell your followers how you spend your time, let them see that you are an interesting person with worthwhile ideas and goals, if you do this then people will respond when you tweet a link to your latest article or blog post.
Do this well and you will find that your followers will join your email list and as enlightened marketers know, one name on an email list is worth many, many times more than the few dollars profit from a one-off sale.
