Recently Etsy announced its annual results for 2018
Gross merchandise sales or GMS (ie. the stuff that Etsy sellers like you and me sell) increased by 20.4% over the previous year.
This achievement was helped by an increase of 18.2% in active buyers during the year. (this compares to an increase of 9.4% in active sellers – so twice as many new buyers compared to new sellers came on board in 2018)
Etsy is predicting further growth in GMS of between 17% and 20% for 2019.
