What a year 2020 has been so far – my thoughts are with you if you have lost a loved one to Covid19.
I have been very fortunate in that all of my family are safe and well and although adjusting to the new normal has been difficult at times we have got on and made the best of it.
The overseas travel ban has interrupted our holiday plans and more importantly I have been unable to visit my parents who live in my home city of Liverpool and are both in their 80’s and becoming increasingly dependent.
On the upside, I have also had extra time to further build my online businesses through these uncertain times.
I have also resumed my voluntary wardening work for Louth Nature Trust which involves me spending a couple of hours each evening patrolling a little tern nesting colony at Baltray beach. Little terns are a rare species of seabird that breed at only a handful of sites on the Irish coast and I am lucky to have one such site within 10 minutes drive of my home.
The birds nest on the beach so their eggs and chicks are particularly vulnerable to walkers with dogs and all manner of predators from foxes to crows. We erect fences to protect the nesting areas and ask people to control their dogs. We also try to have a night warden in place to chase away hungry foxes.

I’m blessed to have solid online businesses that I can operate from home so I have been able to carry on earning with only minor disruption although as a consequence of the schools, colleges and some work places being closed one of my sons and my two daughters are working from home which places an increased demand on our already poor broadband speeds (Ireland has yet to roll out superfast broadband to rural areas).

Hi Stuart, I have just purchased a few of your publications and I have no idea as to how to start!
I know this may seem strange but I’m not really sure how ETSY really work. Is there a course I can take that can “educate” me on ETSY? I mean from start-to-finish so to speak.
