My Etsy shop has become a wonderfully reliable and FUN income generator!

I make sales every day and the 1,000 sale milestone is now firmly in my sights!

The best thing about my Etsy business is that it takes no more than a couple of hours work per week to keep it ticking over – I have achieved this by focusing on just a hand full of popular vintage print subjects.

Stuart, I have bought many internet courses over the years that are ‘guaranteed’ to make money, but have not worked for various reasons (poor courses, or myself losing interest after initial enthusiasm). I would love to find something that is quite simple to do, can give a reasonable return for work put in, and can be implemented from anywhere in the world. The Etsy model looks like it could tick these boxes – I would love to prove to myself that with the right business model, even I can make some money.

    • Yes, Frank this business can be outsourced.

      As I said in my post, because I focus on just a hand full of book titles that I continually source the day to day running of the business consists of a very limited number of activities that could very easily be passed to an assistant.

      Personally I enjoy it too much to pass on to someone else!

      In a nutshell, I research popular book print subjects on eBay and Etsy and then put my detective hat on to identify the source books (not as difficult as it sounds!) I then search eBay and addall.com for cheap copies of these source books.

    • This is a great question, Sue!

      The answer is to make your item look different when it appears in a page of thumbnail images and I do this by adjusting my thumbnail image (there is a button beneath the photos in your listings manager).

      I like to zoom into the image by shifting the slider from left to right and then click on the image to move the focal point to highlight a specific feature (I share a video tutorial demonstrating this technique in my ‘Etsy Confidential’ course).

      The result is that my print attracts many more views than the competition because it stands out from the crowd!
