Buyer Beware!

Had your fingers burned by the latest internet marketing wonder product that promised the earth but failed to deliver?

If so, this post is for you.

I am increasingly amazed at the lengths some marketers go to to sell their products.

I received a promotional email for “Auto Traffic Avalanche” a few weeks back, I was so impressed by the sales copy which included a very convincing video that my first thought was to share this great product with you.

I visited the affiliate resource page and it was then that I started to ‘smell a rat’.

I decided I would take this opportunity to give you a few ‘buyer beware’ tips and here is the short video I created to do just that.

Visiting the affiliate resource page (there is usually a link at the bottom of the sales page) will give you a totally different perspective on the product.

Also, be prepared for the ‘up sell’ or more often than not the ‘up sells‘.

How often have you seen the marketer promise you the earth in the sales copy only to tell you that your newly acquired ‘wonder product’ won’t do what you thought it would UNLESS you spend another $79 on the up sell product?

So the next time you receive a promotional email about the latest IM wonder product promising to share a “secret loophole” that will catapult you to huge profits on “autopilot”,  stop,  step back and remember the old saying;

“if it sounds too good to be true…………. it probably is”

    Hi Stuart

    Thanks for the heads up. It's good to have ethical marketers like yourself around and it's unfortunate that you seem to be well outnumbered by those who will promote every 'must have' product that comes along just to line their own pockets.

    The prospect of getting a bad reputation doesn't seem to deter these people because, as John says in the comment above, there are always plenty of newbies around who don't know the 'goodies' from the 'baddies'.

    Well done Stuart for spotting the problems with this launch product. 8)

    Although we all know that "if it's too good to be true….", the problem for Internet Marketing ethics is that there is also "one born every minute".

    Unscrupulous sales tactics are most effective with the thousands of newbies coming on line every day, who haven't been exposed to them yet. I presume that still makes it profitable for unethical marketers to promote their latest get rich scheme.

    It's important for newbies to find honest reviews like yours, to get a better idea of what's good value.

    Great post Stuart. I've never seen a combination like this, where upon exiting, the sale is offered for free. That sounds suspect in itself, but then a link brings you back to the sales page.

    It may be a good product, but its promotion doesn't leave a good first impression. And doing the math on the number of copies to be released doesn't pan out either.

    Hi Stuart, thanks for the heads up on this. One must not forget the Internet is like a big city with good and bad in it.

    The marketing on this particular product is dishonest and will certainly make you wonder. As a marketer, I figure if you don't buy this product at least they get your email address in anyway which way they can. This is most definitely not the right way to do things.

    We all must learn this kind of marketing in the long run doesn't pay and will eventually only get you a bad reputation.
